Construction Consideration

Utilising Natural, Ethical and Local Materials to their best effect

As designing for a charitable orginisation I felt it sensible to try to minimise costs spent on building materials and processes.

The Low Budget Aesthetic- A fading trend?

I became interested in the debate surrounding the use of low budget materials. Yet on the other hand we are witnessing a rise in the fashionability of 'industrial chic' with the perception of cheaper materials as luxury.

'community architecture is often associated with a certain type of regressive vernacular- a stylistic strait-jacketing which as hijacked a more productive discussion'
