King Street Food Project

Project 3.1 sees the emergence of my initial 3rd year project idea, Beginning with my analysis and investigation of Stretford and its residents it goes on to create an initial building idea and from this first ideas of form, layout and programme.

The project aims to reach out to those over 65 and/or suffering from reduced mobility, vision or memory loss by providing daily cookery classes. Food cooked on site will be available to consume in an on site restaurant open to the public.

USERS

AIMS

King Street Food Project aims to fill the hole created by the loss of Stretford's original high street by providing a central space offering affordable food, shops and cookery classes.

LONG TERM VISION

Food will be sourced from FareShare who provide unsold supermarket goods for free to local charities. Revenue will be generated from the on site shop rentals and meals sold, funding the cookery classes.
