This elevational approach was partially inspired by Collage City where Rowe and Koetter argue for a more temporally collaged city scape. I therefore wished for the facades of my building to show the visible signs of weathering and offer a varied palette of colours and textures, breaking up the overall frontage ad changing over time.

As designing for older users it was important to use a rich mixture of vibrant and textured materials due to diminishing sensory awareness. I therefore decided the use of textiles was important and could be incorporated in the following ways. surfaces.
Walls and Openings
Semi-transparent polycarbonate sheet
Corkboard
Chipboard

Carpet Tiles
Steel Catwalk
Unfinished Screed
Red Epoxy Resin Screed
Tapestries by local weaver- Micheal Compton
Glulam Frame
Corregated Steel Sheets
Red Steel Frame
Feature Textiles
Flooring

Mixing the Material Palette

The following collages explore ways in which materials may be combined, exploring which materials compliment each other and how colours/textures may help define the structure.
