Combining main strengths from each iteration to create an initial abstract programme
Initial Programme
Organising Room Adjacency though Building Usage
The adjacency plan of the building is mainly determined by user circulation but also from the circulation of food through the building.
It also takes account of hourly usage of the building allowing maximisation of use, for example by allowing shop owners to prepare goods in the kitchen before it opens to the public.

Designing for Older Users
Sensory Themes

As I am predominantly designing for older users I want to focus on creating a more sensory building as throughout the ageing process senses decrease therefore there is a higher need for higher contrasting colours, textures smells and a more sensitive acoustic strategy.
I therefore decided to categorise my building around three sensory 'pods' themed around seeing, smelling and tasting. I therefore hope that a variety of users with varying sensory needs can be catered for.
